APPLICATIONS |
||
3-Methylsulphanilic acid is a off-white to grey powder or crystals; insoluble in
water, chorobenzene, slightly soluble in hot water, soluble in alkaline
solution, ethyl alcohol and ether, melts at 290 C. It is used as an intermediate
for colorants (dyes, optical brightening agents), medicines and other organic
synthesis. 2B ACID (4-Amino-2-Chlorotoluene-5-Sulfonic Acid, CAS#: 88-51-7), 4B
ACID (6-Amino-m-toluenesulfonic acid, CAS #: 88-44-8) are analogues. |
